I scarcely left Christchurch for the whole of August 2008... but still managed to see a few cool things:
Kate and I went to explore some of the seaside suburbs on our weekends off. We found this little nature reserve at the end of the Southshore Spit.
Looking across "The Estuary" from Southshore, towards Sumner. There's some pretty cool houses up on those cliffs.
This guy was putting the finishing touches on some pretty cool sand art near the peir at New Brighton.
Apparently he does one of these just about every day...
It was a pretty windy day to be at the beach.
These ridiculously bright flowers didn't seem to mind the chilly weather too much.
The Port Hills received some decent snow on several occasions this year... It made for some slushy weekend hiking.
View South across Lyttleton Harbour.
View East across Lyttleton Harbour, and out to sea... that's Lyttleton way over there.
A seagull surveys his kingdom at Sumner beach.
I survey my kingdom from atop a large rock at Sumner beach.
A few brave souls ventured into the chilled water for a bit of a surf.
This "brave soul" ventured a little too close to the surf too!
The large clock tower at Sumner beach.
Possibly the first motorized lawn mower ever?!
Ahh... is it spring yet?!
These Daffodils are EVERYWHERE in Christchurch this time of year...
