I went to Costa Rica for 2 weeks at the end of January 2007.  I was visiting my girlfriend, Kate, who was living in San Jose at the time, teaching English and freelancing for a couple of newspapers.  The trip was quite a trip... my first journey to a non English speaking country.  I was actually amazed at how much of my Spanish came back to me from Highschool!

I spent the majority of time in San Jose, learning my way around the city and visiting various museums and such.  Kate and I also took a long weekend to explore some more of the country outside of San Jose... or rather, she took the opportunity to show me around to some of the cooler places she'd already explored.  First we went north to a town called La Fortuna to check out Costa Rica's largest active volcano, Arenal, and some natural hot springs.  Then we headed to the southwest coast to a small beach town called Manuel Antonio, a very chill, very beautiful place.
